Station Information

Location: Okmok volcano, Alaska

Installation Date: July/August 2021 (AVERT project)

Instrumentation:

• Tallysman VeraChoke 6100 GNSS antenna
• AlertGeomatics Resolute Polar receiver
• Monument type not specified in documentation

Data Collection:

• Position data recorded at two rates: 30 s (standard) and 1 s (high rate)
• High-rate data only telemetered during events of specific interest to minimize bandwidth consumption

Network Role:

• Part of the expanded GNSS network at Okmok volcano
• Helps constrain the depth and parameters of the deformation source
• Contributes to the doubling of GNSS sites from pre-2022 levels

Site Characteristics:

• Located on Umnak Island in the central Aleutian Arc
• “Closed-system” volcano with cycles of inflation and deflation
• Currently re-inflating since last eruption in 2008
• Site equipped with radome to protect from elements
